Why Baptism?

Without Baptism, something is missing.

If you’re not baptized—or haven’t baptized your child—you might feel uncertain about your place in the Church. You may want your child to grow up with faith, but aren’t sure where to begin. Maybe you feel like you’ve waited too long, or that you’ve missed your chance. Without this first sacrament, we remain spiritually unclaimed—outside the fullness of grace that God wants to give us. Baptism isn’t just a tradition. It’s a vital step in receiving the life God intends for us.

Infant vs. Adult Baptism

At Christ the King, we make it simple to begin

Baptism is a big step, but you’re not taking it alone. Whether you’re baptizing an infant, a child, or seeking baptism yourself, we’re here to guide you through every detail. From preparation to scheduling, we’ll help you understand what’s needed and what to expect — so you can focus on the meaning behind it all. At Christ the King, you’ll find a welcoming community ready to celebrate this milestone with you.

Two Paths, One Spirit

Infant Baptism:
Typically celebrated for children under the age of seven. Parents and godparents attend a short preparation session.

Adult Baptism: Adults seeking Baptism are guided through the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA), a formation journey that leads to full communion with the Church.

At least one godparent must be a practicing, confirmed Catholic in good standing. A non-Catholic Christian who has never been a Baptized Catholic may serve as a Christian Witness.

Absolutely. Adults seeking Baptism go through a separate process called RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). We’ll help you take the next step when you’re ready.
