For nearly a century, Christ the King Church has stood as a place of worship, welcome, and witness in Amherst, NY.
Christ the King was founded in 1926 to serve the growing Catholic community of Amherst. Since then, we’ve grown into a thriving parish known for our reverent liturgies, perpetual adoration chapel, and a spirit of hospitality that welcomes everyone—from lifelong parishioners to first-time visitors.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
“We, the Roman Catholic community of Christ the King, led by the Holy Spirit and united in our faith, are called to share the Good News of salvation with the world, through the example of our Christian lives.”
In every Mass, ministry, and act of service, we seek to reflect Christ’s love—and invite others to know Him more deeply
“Welcome to Christ the King. This parish has been entrusted to my care, but it belongs to all of us because it’s where Christ meets His people. I invite you to worship with us, grow with us, and experience what it means to be part of a faith-filled community.”
Msgr. Paul Litwin was ordained in 1979. He has served Christ the King since 2018. He resides in the CTK Rectory with his beloved black lab, Boookie.
Built in 1926 and preparing to celebrate a century of faith, Christ the King is rooted in rich tradition and vibrant parish life.
Our Perpetual Adoration Chapel is open day and night—offering peace, silence, and a place to simply be with the Lord.
Whether it’s after Mass, during faith formation, or serving others through ministry, our parish community is known for being warm, welcoming, and active.
From liturgies and ministries to school events and service projects, every moment here tells a story of faith and family.

A reverent parish where Christ is adored, the sacraments are cherished, and you’re always invited.
