Reconciliation

Return to mercy. Begin again.

No matter how long it’s been, the sacrament of Reconciliation is an invitation to come back to God — to experience His mercy, receive forgiveness, and begin again with peace in your heart.

Experience divine mercy and personal transformation through the healing power of confession.

Why this can’t wait

Carrying guilt alone is heavy

When we sin or fall short, it’s easy to avoid facing it. We delay, justify, or tell ourselves it’s not that bad. But that quiet weight can grow heavier over time — leaving us feeling distant from God or stuck in shame. Without confession, we miss the healing and grace that only Christ can offer. He’s not waiting to punish you. He’s waiting to free you.

How Christ the King helps

We make it easy to return — with no judgment

Whether it’s been six months or sixty years, our priests are here to welcome you back with gentleness and confidentiality. We’ll guide you through the process, help you remember what to say, and remind you that no sin is too big for God’s mercy. Confession is about reconciliation — not embarrassment. It’s a sacrament of hope, and you don’t have to do it alone.

FAQs

Discover answers to common questions about Reconciliation.
Do I need to be a practicing Catholic to go to confession?
Yes — the sacrament is for baptized Catholics. But even if you’ve been away from the Church, this is your welcome home.
That’s okay. Let the priest know it’s been a while. He’ll gently guide you through it.
Yes. You can choose to go behind a screen or face to face. Either way, what you say is completely confidential.
The Church recommends monthly confession, or at least during Lent and Advent. If you’re aware of a serious sin, go as soon as you can.
Yes. Children typically make their First Reconciliation in Grade 2 as part of their preparation for First Communion. After that, they’re encouraged to receive it regularly.
